De eerste uitvoerders van het genre Ritmo Kombina waren de groepen Explosivos en GIO Fuertissimo (beide onder leiding van Gibi Doran) en ERA Autentiko. Vervolgens begonnen veel andere groepen, ook op Aruba en Bonaire Ritmo Kombina te spelen. Sinds het begin van de 21ste eeuw is Ritmo Kombina dominant in de populaire muziek, vooral op Curaçao. Het is de meest populaire muziekstijl op de ABC-eilanden en ook bij Antillianen en Arubanen in Nederland.

Ritmo Kombina is a music style originating from Curaçao in the nineties of the 20th century. Ritmo Kombina is a mixture of different Caribbean rhythms, including zouk, cadence, konpas, merengue, kaseko, Salsa Antiyano and plena.
The first performers of the Ritmo Kombina genre were the groups Explosivos and GIO Fuertissimo (both led by Gibi Doran) and ERA Autentiko. Subsequently, many other groups, also on Aruba and Bonaire, started playing Ritmo Kombina. Since the beginning of the 21st century, Ritmo Kombina has been dominant in popular music, especially in Curaçao.
